Doktorandin von der Washington State University
Viktoriya Vasina came to visit the Biochemistry Chair from Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. She is a 5th year PhD candidate in the Knoblauch lab, which focuses on studying phloem transport.
The topic of her research is identifying proteins that are present in sieve element organelles. While at FAU she was able to use the most advanced techniques in molecular biology to better describe her sieve element plastid protein. With the help of multiple colleagues at the biochemistry chair she was able to learn techniques like VIGS, CRISPR and LC/MS allowed her to further her research. She gives many thanks to everyone who has contributed to a memorable time in Erlangen.
